Seamless Loop Technology

Unlike some competing sound libraries, all samples intended to be sustained are looped and as with all material originated at Hollow Sun, all looped samples are guaranteed to be glitch-free using a combination of proprietary looping techniques that have been refined and developed with over 20 years of experience creating professional sound library for Akai and other clients. This puts these sample sets in a different league to many other libraries which, despite their pedigree (and invariably high price!) often exhibit annoying clicks and glitches on sustained notes. Not so with the samples on these CD-ROMs where even complex, evolving sounds are smooth and seamlessly looped .

Using these looping techniques also means that sounds can be kept as compact as possible so as not to waste memory and disk storage space unnecessarily. It also means they load very quickly.

Similarly, you won't find any 'dead space' at the end of samples (a technique often used by other manufacturers to pad out their collections to look more impressive!) - all Hollow Sun samples are precisely trimmed at the start and end for optimum performance and memory usage efficiency. Furthermore, all samples are normalised for maximum dynamic range and signal/noise ratios.

COMPATIBILITY

All these sounds are fully compatible with the Akai Z4, Z8 and MPC4000. These sounds are also known to load directly into Kontakt 2.2 and Mach 5. The actual samples thermselves should also be able to be loaded into other samplers though you will have to do the keyboard mapping, etc..

Given the differences in feature sets and/or user-interface implementation between the different sampler formats, 100% compatibility cannot be absolutely guaranteed and some minimal 'tweaking' of some sounds may be required depending on the chosen destination format. Of course, you will probably want to tweak the sounds to your requirements anyway.

	This is an excellent sample set of raw Mellotron samples just itching to be tweaked and twisted. If you are a fan of the instrument, then this is a must have. The material is strong enough for a lot of customization. There's just so much to play with but excellent source material for any sampler is extremely important. NEWTRON BOMB! Highly recommended. 	I owned a PPG a long time ago but sold it :( I have been looking for replacement samples ever since. There's some good stuff around but it all needs converting and reprogramming for my S6000 so I took a chance on the Hollow Sun PPG CD. Fantastic! It seems to capture the sounds of the original perfectly IMO. The wavetable samples and the famous 'choir' sound (which I loved and missed) give me some good memories. Well done.
